Glenn Lockhart was born in Washington, D.C. and stayed
local when he went to Gallaudet University, majoring in English
and getting his start by writing then copy editing for the student
newspaper.
Since his 1998 college graduation, Glenn has performed
consultation ranging from copy writing to editing to editorial planning
for the Arizona Commission for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing,
Hands On Communications, and SurfMetro.com. Glenn's writings have
mostly appeared in closed-circulation publications such as Ability
(165,000), The Copper Dome (20,000), and Silent News
(12,000).
Among his notable achievements and experiences are
authoring ACDHH’s State of Arizona Quality Assurance Task
Force Report; preparing two successful grant proposals; producing
video and radio public service announcements; reviewing grants for
the Arizona Department of Education; and traveling to Rome, Italy
in 2001 and Sundsvall, Sweden in 2003 to cover the Deaf Olympics.
Glenn is deaf and currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona.
He is a marketing consultant with the USA Deaf Sports Federation
and is president of the Phoenix Association of the Deaf.
